Celtic are on the hunt for a new manager, and it is reported that Wilfried Nancy is on their shortlist – but who is the Major League Soccer manager?
The 48-year-old, born in Le Havre, France, became head coach at Ohio club Columbus Crew in 2022, and since then has won the MLS Cup and Leagues Cup.
He also led the Crew to the Concacaf Champions Cup final and was named the MLS Manager of the year in 2024.
In the 2025 season, Crew won 14 and drawn 12 of the 34 games played in the MLS, but lost to Cincinnati in Round One of the play-offs.
Prior to that, the Frenchman took over the head coach role at Montreal, in 2021, from Thierry Henry.
He managed the club until 2022, winning the Canadian Championship.
The former defender played in lower league French clubs including Toulon, before he moved to Canada to play for the University of Quebec in Montreal college club.
After retiring from playing, Nancy coached the youth teams in Montreal and became the assistant coach in 2016, eventually becoming head coach.
