St Helens have signed forward Joe Shorrocks on a one-year deal from beleaguered former Super League side Salford Red Devils.
Shorrocks began his career with Wigan Warriors, where he won the League Leaders’ Shield twice
The 25-year-old ended the 2025 season on loan with Leeds Rhinos, making two appearances before the conclusion of the campaign.
“I’ve worked with Rowls [Paul Rowley] for the past two years and with Briersy [Lee Briers] when he was at Wigan, so I know what they expect. They want to win, and that’s what I want too,” he told the club website., external
“The way Rowls likes to play suits me; moving the ball and playing an attacking brand of rugby. He’s really helped develop my game, so hopefully we can keep building on that.”
Shorrocks reached the Super League play-offs with Salford in 2024 as they finished in fourth position. But the club endured a miserable campaign in 2025 because of ongoing financial problems.
Despite this, Shorrocks racked up 17 appearances for the Red Devils during last season.
“I’m pleased to welcome Joe to the Saints. He’s a great addition to the squad, both on and off the field, and I’m looking forward to seeing him pull on the Saints jersey,” head coach Rowley added.
