Wigan Warriors centre Jake Wardle is expected to be out for up to three months with a medial collateral ligament injury.
The 27-year-old England international picked up the injury during Warriors’ 26-16 victory at Castleford Tigers on the opening weekend of the Super League season.
The club confirmed that Wardle will require surgery on his knee.
Wigan continue their Super League campaign with a home fixture against Hull FC on Saturday (20:00 GMT).
