With Super League expanded to 14 teams, the Championship and League 1 have been merged for 2026, although of the original 21 clubs, Featherstone Rovers went into administration and Halifax Panthers have been liquidated to reduce it to 19.
But for Crarey, it is a case of developing a “no fear” attitude among his players, with a trip to Sheffield Eagles next up on Sunday.
“We’ll go there without fear, as whatever happens there’s no promotion and relegation,” he said.
“It’s about enjoying yourself, trying to play some nice rugby and entertaining what is a growing crowd.
“I wouldn’t put too much pressure on winning and losing. That comes with the enjoyment part.
“We’re not going to win all year. That’s impossible in the modern game and the way people are picking up players. But what we can do is we can compete all year.”
